Sniper sues Army for revealing his ID
p2pnet view P2P:- A British Army sniper whose targets included Taleban insurgents is suing the Ministry of Defence over a “catastrophic error” which “put him and his family in danger of being kidnapped by al-Qaeda”, says the Telegraph.
The MoD publicly revealed his identity and “The soldier and his family were forced to leave the country amid fears that he was a possible target of a kidnap plot”, it says, stating the story had 1.5 million hits online.
“Police feared the soldier and his family could face retaliatory attacks by British-based Islamists after it was disclosed to the media that he had shot dead several Taliban gunmen at a range of 1.5 miles during during a tour in Helmand”, it states.
The sniper has now lodged a “letter of claim” with the MoD, accusing it of failing in its duty of care by allowing his identity to become public, says the Telegraph, continuing under the MoD’s own security procedures, snipers’ identities are kept confidential “for fear that they may be targeted for retribution”.
“Snipers have previously been targeted with hate mail and death threats from Islamist sympathisers because their primary function in Helmand is to kill Taliban commanders and other ‘high value targets’,” it says.
“The soldier was interviewed during a medals parade at his regiment’s barracks.”
MoD officials had promised “none of his personal details or those of his family would be made public”, the story adds.

Maybe if governments started behaving in a trustworthy manner citizens might begin trusting them again.
If I was one of those government folks I’d have been more careful. I’d think that it wouldn’t be the cleverest thing to annoy a sniper capable of picking you off from a distance of 1.5 miles.

It’s no surprise because no government can be trusted.

The problem is that the British just like the US governments don’t give a fuck about their soldiers.
Why do you thing so many veterans are homeless?
it is time to dismiss these buns.
