This worked for me, and it was CHEAP!! I don't have a lot of space so this compact, simple design appealed to me. If space is not an issue they have much bigger coat hanger diy designs which may get better reception.

We are in a poor reception area. Before the digital transition we could receive 4 channels two good 1 OK and one poorly.

After the transition we receive: ZERO! ZIP! NADA with our digital receiver who is useless.

Now using internet instead.

I dropped my cable completely and rely entirely on internet to watch my favorite shows.

I save $50/month this way.

I (also in the US )would have to disagree with dreddsnik on this one. The picture quality is unbelievable, yes, but what I like much more is that the antenna required is smaller by order of magnitudes than with analog. I can now get more stations with a pair of cheap rabbit ears, and in any room in the house, than I used to with a thirty foot tall ten foot long antenna coupled with what seemed like miles of wire. It sounded like a gimmick to me too, but once I tried it I was in awe.

The only thing the digital transition really accomplished here in the US was forcing people to
switch to cable or satellite, or go without. I think this is the intent all along. Check open secrets to see how much money cable and satellite lobbies have poured into our government. This transition was wet-dream for them.
