Microsoft dodges EC DRM case

p2pnet.net News:- “Microsoft yesterday won a notable victory in its long-running anti-trust battle with the European commission, in effect forcing it to abandon another potentially damaging investigation into its allegedly monopolist strategy,” says the Guardian Unlimited, going on:

Bill and the Boyz outmaneuvered the Brussels competition authorities by sealing the equal participation of Thomson, the French IT group, in a joint venture with itself and Time Warner to take over, an anti-piracy software firm, says the story. The deal was completed yesterday.

ContentGuard, which describes itself as a, “leading holder of Digital Rights Management (DRM) intellectual property,” used to be owned by Xerox Corp.
