Senator Hatch is a songwriter for those of you that didn’t know. In 2003 he made approx $18,000 in royalties, and approx. $34,000 in 2004. He has a vested interest in the battle, one that will most likely result in the continueing sham hearings, with the RIAA and MPAA being given a warm welcome, and those from the tech fields, being put on the burner (like was done to the Intel guy last year.)

Imagine the outcry about “conflict of interest” if say Shawn Fanning were on that panel, on a Jon Johannson, or any of the execs from any of the p2p companies.

Any hopes of DMCA reform being championed in the house are now firmly dashed with this disgusting sell out’s appointment to yet another IP committe.

But theyre running out of different names to give the same function hatch.. guess what, youre out for good the next time.

I wish consumers would see what limiting and restrictive laws this guy promotes, and simultaneously see the Mercedes driving Sharp Suit wearing fools he backs, then you’d read the real story.
Sorry this guy is dangerous to his constituents but probably just landed himself in a position where he no longer needs to answer to them, his position is most likely sponsored by the deep pockets he has succombed to.

God help us all,

Even here in Canada or Europe the trickle down effect of the US’s horrendous domestic policies (ie DMCA) influences our policies and literally encroaches our sovereignty and other nations sovereignty.
