RIAA goes after Harvard
p2pnet.net News:- The RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) has singled out two Harvard students for special attention.
The Big Music cartel-owned hit organization has sent at least one “pre-subpoena letter” to the associate provost’s office as an “advance warning” that a student or students will “probably be subpoenaed,” Mitchell said, says the Harvard Crimson’s Matthew S. Lebowitz, going on:
“According to RIAA spokeswoman Jenni R. Engebretsen, the RIAA’s records showed that lawsuits have been filed against only two Harvard students – both of whom committed the alleged copyright violations on computers in the Longwood Medical area.
Robert Mitchell, director of communications for the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, is quoted as saying any legal action taken against students by the RIAA wouldn’t affect their academic standing at Harvard, or be added to their personal records.
Under normal circumstances, Harvard doesn’t disclose names of students who use IP addresses that have been implicated in illegal file sharing, says the story, adding:
“However, Mitchell said, if required to do so by a subpoena, the University will comply.”
Harvard could, of course, always opt for the Penn State solution in which case it would agree to act as an entertainment industry front and allow staff to act as PR, marketing and sales people paid, in effect, through school fees.

lol if they go to harvard that means their parents are rich ,
which means the fines the riaa gives them will be childs play,
and they probably will laugh at the riaa’s file sharing busters and say here’s your money now get on with your other business.lol
lol maybe if they are from harvard maybe the riaa will charge them more seeing how only the rich go to harvard, lol

veritas..
latin term.. most famously used in the quote “in vino veritas” (in wine is truth)
it’s root translation is “truth”.
Obviously, unlike emory, harvard is interested in the “truth” and promoting it.
I’m happy to see at least one institution doing so.

if all else fails, the RIAA could enlist the help of campus security – or even dominoes pizza delivery people – to serve warrants and subpoenas.
