More specifically, the stretched-out song, clocking in at 35 minutes and 29 seconds, sounds like the ambient soundtrack to an edgy indie film set either in outer space or underwater and helmed by a director who’s high on magic mushrooms.”

Universal Music Group, the parent of Bieber’s label Island Records, says it “won’t take action against a dramatically slowed-down version of the single ‘U Smile’,” says Billboard.

Or you can just load the song into virtually any audio editor and change the tempo. Total Commander’s built-in file lister can alter the playback speed from 1% – 200%. Speed up songs and they sound like Alvin & The Chipmunks.
