Napster craps out on WMA files

Crapster, the disinterred corpse of the original Napster, the P2P application that started it all, is still around.
But there was a post on Kenzoid saying Napster II has told account holders with WMA song files — which is, as Boing Boing points out, “all they sold prior to May 2008″ — that as of September 1, it’ll no longer be supporting them.
“Nice”, says the story. “Another authorization scheme abandoned … users left holding potentially unusable music libraries.”
Kenzoid had the entire email online when we went for a look last night, but the site wasn’t loading this morning at 6:19 am Pacific.

Fortunately secured WMA file has been cracked long time ago and the cracking tools are still available on the net.

Yeah, but if anyone’s stupid enough to have fallen for the “music subscription” scam in the first place, chances are they’ll have no idea how to use those tools.

Thanks for link…yeah, I managed to bork up a website update the same day I posted that…**sigh**. Oops. Should be up and running normally again now.
