CBC sacks Dr Who leaker
p2pnet.net News- So much for the theory that whoever leaked an episode from the new Dr Who series did so as a kind of an advance PR stunt.
It seems the leakee worked for, or was associated with, Canada’s CBC.
The Canadian Broadcasting Company (CBC) – one of the BBC’s international production partners – found the person responsible, says the BBC.
“The BBC did not provide details about the individual, saying only that the person worked for a ‘third-party company in Canada’,” it states, going on:
“In a statement, BBC Worldwide said: ‘After a thorough investigation by BBC Worldwide’s Canadian broadcast partner, the source of the leak of episode one of the new Doctor Who series has been traced to a third party company in Canada which had an early preview copy for legitimate purposes.
"The individual responsible for the leak has had their employment terminated by that company as a result.
"BBC Worldwide is considering further legal remedies and takes extremely seriously any unlawful copying or misuse of its copyright material’."

hmmmm, why is this individual not being sued like everyone else who is caught participating in copyright infringement??
or charged with theft etc etc
I still think its a PR stunt that they are trying to put a lid on.

It does not say who got sacked either. I don’t think they sacked anyone. A PR stunt as everyone says.
