Bollywood cyber hit men DDoS downloaders
p2pnet view Movies:- “Reply to our infringement letters or we’ll DDoS you!”
That’s it in a nutshell, says frequent poster Marc in an email pointing to a Pogo Was Right story which links to another in Australia’s The Age featuring an Indian firm which says of itself, modestly:
“Aiplex founded in 2003 provides Net Vigilance services (Anti movie piracy) & is a leading provider of Windows-based network vulnerability & security solutions that enable corporations to safely conduct business operations via internet. We are proud to claim that we are the only Net Vigilance company across the Globe thus far to provide unprecedented services on Internet based piracies.”
Internet based piracies, eh?
“The film industry is using pirate tactics to beat the pirates – by employing ‘cyber hitmen’ to launch attacks that take out websites hosting illegal movies”, says The Age, going on >>>
Girish Kumar [right], managing director of Aiplex Software, a firm in India, told this website that his company, which works for the film industry, was being hired – effectively as hitmen – to launch cyber attacks on sites hosting pirated movies that don’t respond to copyright infringement notices sent to them by the film industry.
Kumar said 95 per cent of sites hosting illegal movies co-operated with notices, but a few – mostly sites hosting torrents and used primarily for illegal content – did not.
“Most movies are released on Friday morning at 10am in India,” Kumar said in a telephone interview. “The movie is released in the morning [and] by afternoon it’s on the internet.”
His company trawled the net to find movies uploaded, he said. “What we do is we see all those links on the net,” he said.
“We find the hosting [computer] server and send them a copyright infringement notice because they’re not meant to have those links. If they don’t remove [the link] we send them a second notice and ask them [again] to remove it.”
He said that if the provider did not do anything to remove the link or content hosted on its site, his company would launch what is known as a denial-of-service (DoS) attack on the offending computer server.
In Australia, The Age stresses, distrubuted-denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks “are an offence under section 477.3 of the Criminal Code Act 1995, according to the Australian Federal Police. And “As for DoS attacks, which are different, according to Australian law a person is guilty of an offence if the person causes ‘any unauthorised impairment of electronic communication to or from a computer’.”
India’s Daily News & Analysis has Kumar stating >>>
The problem is with torrent sites, which usually do not oblige. In such cases, we flood the website with lakhs of requests, which results in database error, causing denial of service as each server has a fixed bandwidth capacity.
At times, we have to go an extra mile and attack the site and destroy the data to stop the movie from circulating further.
Adds The Age, “As for Hollywood films, he said they, too, used his services.
“We are tied up with Fox STAR Studios – Star TV and 20th Century Fox – who are a joint venture company in India.”
So “let’s get this straight”, says Pogo Was Right, “they complain of infringement of copyright, and when they don’t get results, they resort to criminal behavior?”
Stay tuned.

What a bunch of BS! How are they going to do that?
Without mentioning that they should be doing that on a very large amount of systems to have any impact.
Since the number of copy of any file including the small torrent file grow exponentially you need to remove 99.99% of the seeds to just begin impairing the availability.
Concerning Ddossing and beside the fact that this is illegal in most countries you can not DDos forever. Eventually you have to stop. Also if you Ddos a server who is not use to make any profit guess what? Who care! Just keep the server offline for a little while saving some bandwidth and some money in the process.
However if we start Ddossing the servers of Aiplex Software days and night for few weeks in retaliation it is going to hurt them really, really hard. Even their search engines rating will drop. So if I was them I would not play a game they are certain to lose but if they want to do it anyway let have some fun!
Just saying.

This DDOS technique is totally bullshit.DDOS is a very old trick and not even used any more as there are more than hundred ways to prevent it like firewall or IP blocking so piracy is going to continue.Ya but one thing is there that this Girish kumar is just scamming these bollywood ediot producers.Ask about DDOS to any engineer and hell tell you that its illegal and infective these days.If it was so powerfull then there would be no site left on the net.I myself downloaded peepli live i didnt have any trouble at all so
Keep piracy running
