BSA on Verizon decision
Under the, We had to come up with something and this is the best we could do, heading, the Business Software Alliance has come up with this statement with respect to the Verizon decision, namely:
"We are very disappointed in this ruling because we have always supported the rights of all copyright holders to protect their works from online thieves. As technology makes it easier and easier to steal digital works en masse, it is crucial that copyright holders have effective means to protect themselves.
"This court ruling, unfortunately, makes it harder for rights holders to protect their works. That in turn, could have the unintended consequence of slowing the pace at which creators are willing to make their content available on the Internet."
Say no more.
BSA members include such worthies as Adobe, Apple, Autodesk, Avid, Bentley Systems, Borland, CNC Software/Mastercam, Internet Security Systems, Macromedia, Microsoft, Network Associates and Symantec.
