Bahnhof drops APB lawsuit
p2pnet.net News:- The Big Music cartel’s Antipiratbyrån (APB) and ISP Bahnhof say they now ‘stand united against pirate copying’ and have agreed to stop legal actions against each other.
APB recently used Swedish enforcement authorities to raid Bahnhof, seizing servers. But an APB agent provocateur working at Bahnhof had been manipulating uploads and downloads on the servers.
“As well as withdrawing allegations against each other, the organisations have agreed to contribute as much information as possible to any police investigations into illegal file-sharing,” they say in a joint press release quoted by Sweden’s The Local.
It has Bahnhof managing director Jon Karlung saying, “”We’ve buried the hatchet. There is no reason for me to comment on what we discovered in our internal investigation, or the fact that APB were using an infiltrator, now that we have reached this agreement.”
Bahnhof fired two employees, including the infiltrator, who were copying and distributing copyright-protected material, says The Local.
“The company says it has carried out ‘a thorough inventory of the servers and is implementing a number of other measures’.”
But, the report adds, APB still stands accused of breaking personal data laws and laws governing electronic communication and is the subject of investigations by the Swedish Data Inspection Board and the National Post and Telecom Agency.

It’s too bad that they dropped the lawsuit against these creeps. I wonder what made them decide to do this.

another back-handed LokiTorrent-style sellout maybe? they should have stayed with the lawsuit against APB. at least they have more money than Ed Webber.
ah, but their stockholders probably voted against it.
