Online death in real time
p2pnet.net News:- ‘Want to gun something down online – like really gun something down.’
‘Then you’ll be keenly interested in Live-Shot, a Point, Click, Shoot web site which, if owner John Underwood is successful, will soon be Point, Click, Kill.’
That’s how we led a story last November on a plan to give people who like to kill living creatures – “Reactive” targets – a fun way to do it on line.
But a US state senate committee has voted to ban what one lawmaker calls “video target practice using live animals, says the Associated Press.
‘The Natural Resources and Wildlife Committee approved a bill by Sen. Debra Bowen, D-Redondo Beach, that would bar computer-assisted hunting sites in California. It’s a response to a Texas ranch that says it is setting up a system that would allow people to shoot at live game via the Internet.
‘This isn’t hunting; it’s an inhumane, over the top, pay-per-view video game using live animals for target practice, and it shouldn’t be allowed to expand into California,’ Bowen is quoted as saying.
‘Shooting live animals over the Internet takes absolutely zero hunting skills, and it ought to be offensive to every legitimate hunter.’
The bill would ban anyone from operating a computer-assisted hunting site in California and bar the importation of animals killed by remote hunting and violations could result in up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine, says the story.
Even pro-hunting groups say the practice is, “unethical and unsporting,” states AP, adding that at least four other states – North Carolina, Wisconsin, West Virginia and Texas – are also considering legislation to ban Internet hunting.
So what’s it all about?
Underwood and his site arent mentioned by name, but draw your own conclusions.

‘Is this like playing a video game?’ – asks a post on the site, answering:
No, this is real. What you see on your screen thru the camera is what is there. When you activate the fire control, you are sending a signal to the firing mechanism which discharges a round. You control the camera and firearm.
So what can you kill?
At the moment, only a paper target. But if Underwood has his way, thatll change and youll be able to line up “Reactive” targets such as this Aoudad (Barbary Sheep) Native to Northern Africa.
Wouldnt that be fun?
They vary in coloration from a light tan to almost a dark brown, says Underwood, going on:
‘Both males and females have horns that grow up and back then curl in towards the neck and head. Long guard hairs grow as a mane and ‘chaps’ that give these animals an impressive appearance.
‘Many trophies are displayed in half body positions to show off this distinctive feature. Horn lengths typically run 26-32 inches for trophy class animals.’
