Sony ‘brain beam’ patent

p2pnet.net News:- Sony says it`s patented a what amounts to a theory for transmitting data directly into the brain.

The technique, describes a device that fires pulses of ultrasound at the head to modify firing patterns in targeted parts of the brain, creating `sensory experiences` ranging from moving images to tastes and sounds, says New Scientist.

But don`t get to excited just yet because touchy-feelies aren`t exactly on the horizon.

“There were not any experiments done,” Sony Electronics spokeswoman Elizabeth Boukis is quoted as saying.

“This particular patent was a prophetic invention. It was based on an inspiration that this may someday be the direction that technology will take us.”

Pioneering brain surgeon Wilder Penfield was way ahead of Sony, although his technique is `invasive` which is to say physical contact is involved..

In the 1940s he mapped the brain`s motor cortex by using mild electric currents to stimulate it and, Since the patients were awake during the operations, they could tell Penfield what they were experiencing. Probing some areas triggered whole memory sequences, says PBS.org.

For one patient, Penfield triggered a familiar song that sounded so clear, the patient thought it was being played in the operating room.

This is abuse of the patent system at it’s finest. “Prophetic invention”? Please. I think I’ll file a patent for fart powered lawnmowers becase “this may someday be the direction that technology will take us.”

    Don’t use p2p file sharing

    Pay your taxes

again, can’t wait for the virus

Add enough circuitry and support equipment, we could be made into the Borg hehe.

On the serious side, for those who are worried about this being used as mind control, I wouldn’t worry much. It would take much more money and time to brainwash people using the above method. Far more effective mind control techniques are being used my the cartel media as I type. These are:

    1. Create or highlight a problem. The problem can be either real or perceived.

    2. Induce or increase anxiety and fear about what will happen if problem is not solved.

    3. Keep doing step 2 until people think problem is a major emergency crises.

    4. Offer a solution to the problem. Keep talking about the solution as if it is the greatest thing to alleviate the problem. Make sure “solution” provides relief from anxiety produced in step 2.

Follow these steps using media, schools, churches, and other public forums people use for information gathering, and you will have a very brainwashed crowd with enough repetition.

People will be very happy and will fight tooth and nail to emplement the proposed solution.

This is EXACTLY how destructive cults and police state propaganda machines work. This is the very mechanisms being used by the Democratic and Republican Parties in the P.S.A. Each side makes the other look bad so that people will continue to vote for the “Lessor of Two Evils” while ignoring alternative options. Then whichever candidate gets in office continues the current policy of enslavement, abortion euthanasia, false drug control, world “free trade”, stripping away of the peoples’ right, etc. This is the same methods used by establishment religious organizations to ensure compliance with those in charge (in return for the monetary benefits, prestige, and power).

It is better to study Scripture on your own (or in small, independent groups) rather than go to the establishment churches, you will learn a lot more. The same applies to music. Listen to independent bands instead of cartel music. Also the same applies to news. It is better to get news from independent sources. I am very defencive when even watching TV. You will find yourself seeing things from a much clearer prospective!

YAY! ^_^ not that I want sony doing it. But if someone is patenting that kind of technology, the world of .Hack is not far off!! XD

  6. Reader's Write Says:

hmmm, that makes me wonder if sony is thinking about the future of gaming, and what this technology might be capable of doing.

If it can send images to the brain, and tastes and feeling, ect… It could become the greatest form of game play… if it works without killing us. XD And if Sony patents it right, they will have exclusive rights to it, so no competing companies in gaming. XD

    omg!

    *Start Sarcasm Alert!*

oh great! now we’ll be able to get “pop-up ads” sent directly to our brains whenever we walk past a transmiter. Bring it on, i can’t wait!

    *End Sarcasm Alert!*
