Fontal.A ‘p2p’ infection
p2pnet.net News:- If you`ve been infected by the new Fontal.A phone bug, you probably caught it on IRC or from p2p file sharing, says F-Secure on its blog.
This is a SIS file trojan that installs a corrupted file which causes phone to fail at reboot, says Jarno Niemela.
If users try to reboot the infected phone, it`ll end up permanently stuck on the reboot and will be useless until it`s been disinfected.
So to avoid Fontal and other trojans, download files only from legal sources, he says.
Only ‘legal’ sources, eh? : )
But there`s good news too.
The disinfection was a lot easier than we originally thought it to be, says Niemela:
That`s because the trojan disables only the application manager, But the warning about not rebooting the phone still holds.
