Apple has been coyly fluttering its white iPhone at people for quite a while.
Who cares what colour it is? Or who cares at all, with all the excellent smart phones that are available, and for less money than Apple demands?
But Applelytes must have their goodies. So Lam figured out a way to satisfy them — some of them, anyway — by offering a white iPhone way ahead of Apple.
The official item isn’t slated for sale until Spring 2011. But Lam has friends in low places — at Apple parts maker Foxconn, aka Suicide Central. This means he was able to get his hands on white iPhone 4 parts, says the New York Observer.

Lam intends to contact a lawyer “and has no plans to take his site down or change his business”, says the post. “There are a couple of other sellers online and somehow I’m the ‘focus’ of it all”, he says in it.
“I think this guy is just trying to scare me into stop selling on behalf of Apple.”
But “He can take heart in the fact that Steve Jobs, along with his partner Steve Wozniak, helped to fund their first business selling ‘Blue Boxes’ that let users make illegal long distance telephone calls.”
