Canada OKs marijuana painkiller
p2pnet.net OT News:- Canada is the first country to approve a cannabis-based painkiller.
“Cannabis sativa L. has won approval from Health Canada regulators for treatment of a severe form of pain common among sufferers of multiple sclerosis, but it may also find favour with those with nerve pain related to conditions ranging from shingles to cancer,” says the Globe & Mail.
“The drug, marketed in Canada by Bayer HealthCare under the brand name Sativex, is sprayed under the tongue or inside the cheek.”
Shares in Britain’s GW Pharmaceuticals rose nearly 9.5% after the biotech firm’s prescription cannabis drug was approved for use in Canada, says the BBC.
"Some MS patients already smoke cannabis to relieve their symptoms," it says, adding:
"GW spokesman Mark Rogerson said the company would look to market Sativex in the EU after UK approval is granted.
"This year, he said GW would take the "first steps" to seek approval for a cannabis-derived drug in the US."

We seem to forget that the US has had Marinol (dronabinol) capsules out on the market for a good while, with Schedule III status (unlike morphine, oxycodone, hydromorphone which are subject to more abuse and are thus Schedule IIs).
Dronabinol is synthetic, pharmaceutical-grade THC.

And honestly those things are a mixed bag. Definately not as much fun recreationally as you’d think.
Happy holidays people!

Marinol (dronabinol) is soo much expensive that you could buy a oz and keep the rest of the $950 instead of paying about $1000. for a months supply. Do the math… Its not worth it. I would go to any street dealer before buying marinol.
