‘Cell phone rage’ in NZ
p2pnet.net News:- “Cell phone rage” among cinema-goers in New Zealand may prompt the country’s Motion Pictures Exhibitors Association to jam the phones.
Mobiles ringing in cinemas were a "huge disruption," to moviegoers, the Associated Press quotes spokesman Duncan Mackenzie is quoted as saying.
"Even texting creates so much light and it’s unfair to expect that people should have to put up with it," he said.
But it’s not teenagers with the latest devices who are causing the problems.
Middle aged women who get “aggravated” when they’re asked to turn their cell phones off, or to leave, were worst offenders, AP has Mackenzie saying.
If jammers were introduced, people on call for emergencies could leave their mobile phones or pagers at the reception desk, adds AP.
