p2pnet.net News:- The world at large is about to have access to music Top Ten file sharing information p2pnet readers have been enjoying exclusively for months.
Big Champagne, which supplies p2pnet’s Music and Movies File Share Top Ten data, has reached another kind of sharing agreement with Nielsen Entertainment.
Under it, Nielsen’s BDSRadio.com and Big Champagne’s p2p charts will combine radio airplay ’spin’ data with ‘Top Swaps,” say the two companies.
“This combined analysis of Nielsen Entertainment’s BDSradio.com resources; digital, terrestrial, and satellite airplay data and Big Champagne’s P2P measurement, will provide both the radio and record industries with a unique matrix of music consumption measurement,” say Nielsen and Big Champagne.
The implications are interesting, to say the least.

that’s good to know.
but it seems more like an informal stepping stone for nielsen to merge with or buy BigC, with the possibility of selling their services to so-called “authorized” p2p services in the future. apparently they feel that they shouldn’t ignore p2p anymore and want to get in now so they can control advertizing prices later on.
just as cnet has bought tvtome - buying a popular website and indexing service without having to do any of the work, so it looks that way here.
is BigC going to sell out, do you think? it looks that way to me.

Name me a music label or a movie company who think Big Champane are anything but shysters. No one trusts them. Wheres the detail on how they get those numbers? The stuff on their website is rubbish.
