Linux to Apple’s rescue?
p2pnet.net News:- Online seller Tiger Direct is after Apple for, it says, infringing its trademark with Mac OS X 10.4 ‘Tiger’.
But Red Hat founder Bob Young, who recently bought Canada`s Hamilton Tiger-Cats football team, says the lawsuit is “a load of codswallop” and has offered to license historical use of the word “tiger” to Apple for free, says Missing Links, going on:
He claims his team went by the name `Tigers` 136 years ago. `If anyone owns the exclusive rights to the word `tiger’ with that much history and tradition, it’s gotta be us`.”
However, adds the post, Young’s offer probably won`t hold any legal weight Unless of course Jobs decides to change the name of its OS to Apple Tiger-Cat, in which case, maybe Napoleon Dynamite can come up with a new logo for the product packaging.
