Sober World Cup Worm
p2pnet.net News:- Sober, the World Cup Worm, now infects one in every 22 emails.
Variously called Sober.N and Sober.P, it came to light at the beginning of the week and swamped the FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association), also promising free tickets to the soccer world championships, says F-Secure`s Mikko Hypponen.
Since the worm first emerged on Monday it has dominated the chart of most commonly encountered viruses, says Sophos.
At the time of writing it is accounting for 79.29% of all viruses seen by Sophos’s monitoring stations around the world. Sophos experts calculate that the worm is now accounting for an astonishing 4.5% of all email (legitimate or otherwise) sent across the internet.”
So is it Sober.N or Sober.P?
It’s the same virus, Hypponen told p2pnet.
