PDAs stage a revival
p2pnet.net News:- Until recently, fewer and fewer people were buying hand-helds because PDA and phone functionality has been converging.
However, according to research firm Gartner, PDA sales were up 25% in the first quarter of this year because of a growing interest in wireless e-mail, says PC World.
In fact, 55% of hand-helds sold had Wi-Fi or cellular capability, it states.
Given the above, what’s the most popular unit?
"BlackBerry sales were up 76 per cent in the first quarter of 2005, while Palm shipments fell by 26 per cent," says vnunet.com.
"Research in Motion now has 20.8 per cent of the market. Palm’s market share fell to 18 per cent, its lowest since 1996, and HP came in third at 17.6 per cent."
