Nokia anti-virus phones

p2pnet.net News:- Nokia says it`s working with F-Secure and Symantec with a view to building anti-virus software into its new multimedia smartphones.

It fears, emerging breeds of phone viruses will block users’ access to thousands of paid-for music tracks or movies, says New Scientist.

“Today, the threat from phone viruses is more theoretical than real,” Kari Tuutti, a director of Nokia’s multimedia division is quoted as saying, “but as phones become more like computers the threat may become more concrete.”

sounds like a good virus to me, stops you paying for crap music and crap movies to watch and your phone.

    Money! Money! Money!

Why is it that the idea of a virus infecting my phone makes me worry about my contacts, or malicious use of my account. Not the inability to watch 200pixels square video clips.

Or the threat of malicious-but-dormant-code waiting to be sync’d with my computer… gotta give it the this bit of PR fluff for telling customer’s what they should want to be doing with their mobiles.
