It’s so hard to get backlinks these days, honestly i need a backlink by comments on your blog / forums or guestbook to make my website appear in search engine.

I finally broke down and implemented one of Word Press’s comment moderation tools. Since then I haven’t had any problems with automated link spam. The little monsters are persistent.

@ Mad Hatter: I’ve gone this far and this long without using moderation tools, and I’m not going to let spammer set my policies for me.
BUT — Akismet has a mind of its own and still sidelines perfectly acceptable comments, and lets spam through.

actually its a little bit genius when you look at it this way… you can post that one anywhere because it actually makes reference and apology to having nothing to do with the topic. Equally as effective no matter where you post it.
