Reputation Defender has done nothing to me - not that I know of, anyway. My complaint is that if a business says that you can remove your profile, you should be able to remove it permanently. Nothing on Spokeo's site warns the user that profiles might reappear or suggests that the user check back, etc. I believe that their representation was misleading and a deceptive practice. We'll see what the FTC thinks.

I don't get how they can just data-mine hundreds of social networks, scoop info and then charge you for it. Half the stuff they show on a person isn't even right. But they sell that info as if it were.

Personally I think Spokeo is a front. It's there in order to get people to actually buy ReputationDefender. Reputationdefender.com got tens of millions of dollars injected into it to start-up and lobbied the U.S. gov to get rid of anon on the internet since it doesn't profit by anon.

Really what it is, is the exploitation and monetizing of people. If you want to protect yourself, buy ReputationDefender which will protect you from sites like spokeo (and of which ReputationDefender is a partner).

It's too bad Pogo Was Right can't file a complaint against Spokeo's protected partner, Reputationdefender.
