CNET News says the introduction of a new Yahoo music service is kicking off a “digital music price war that could put rival subscription services in a painful squeeze,” according to analysts.
It might indeed. But no one beyond the cartel, RealNetworks, Napster II, the analysts and, of course, the mainstream media, will give a damn.

Wake me up when it’s MP3, there’s no DRM and the price is down to $0.20 per track. Otherwise just STFU with your one million tracks, WMA and subscription rentals.
