10 billion downloads for Apple App Store
p2pnet view P2P:- Every now and then Apple comes out with some nicely rounded figure on how many iPods it’s sold, say, or how many people are using iTunes, the iPod online loader, paid for by punters.
It never says how it arrives at these stats, and no one (in the lamescream media, at least) ever questions them.
It seems like only yesterday that Apple kicked off the iOS (mobile operating system) app page.
And already, Apple is claiming 10 billion — not million, but billion, which is one hell of a lot — downloads for the main app store.
That’s more than the world population.
Guess Apple employees must have been burning the midnight oil.
Like really burning it.
No need to stay tuned.

Which one is this for? The Mac App Store, or the combine Mac/iOS App Store?

Wow it sure is disturbing how many idiots buy Apple junk so they can live in Apple’s little censored corner of the universe.
You would think the fact that these devices are locked-down six ways from Sunday would be a deal-breaker for most people, but I guess even that concept is over the head of the typical consumer these days.
I guess as long as they can get a facebook app and an american Idol app on the thing the dumb-azz pleebs are happy that they can pursue their brainless interests.

This would be iOS not Mac… and I guess it includes free apps (obv.) and as it’s about 100 apps per device sold I would also guess it includes updates. As an iPod Touch user I can say that sounds quite feasible. I don’t have 100 apps but easily 100 downloads overall.
Esp. the American Idol app, that gets updated all the time.

I hope they also have a Hockey app and another app about Tim Hortons coffee.
Oh yeah and I also want a “s’port duh troops” app so I can mark-out to our storm-troopers that are out doing God’s work in the middle-east.
