‘Shut up, Jesus!’

p2pnet view Off Topic:- In December last year, “The last time I posted a Jesus cartoon, I had a couple of email communications from irate Christians saying I shouldn’t be running this kind of thing”, I said, going on:

“At least I won’t risk getting blown up like I would if it featured Muhammed (what’s the correct spelling of his name anyhow?) .”

The last two or three were ‘Go away Jesus’ and maybe that’s what offended religionists, I thought.

So instead, this is a ‘Shut up Jesus’.

8-)

Stay tuned for more.

And let the anti-religious trolling commence.

  2. Wozzzaaa Says:

Good, religion has no place in a modern society.

  3. Dreddsnik Says:

And let the pro-religious pontification begin.

  4. Christian and proud of it Says:

I really like P2PNet but this kind of thing has no place here. Having good Christian values is inportant and mocking Jesus does not help anything no matter how funny you think it is.

  5. Robert Says:

    @Christian and proud of it:

Please explain the mockery of Jesus that you see? What I see is Jesus mocking humans and humans ignoring him. That’s actually a realistic view of things today. The Holy Trinity, if they exist, are probably both laughing and crying at how their ‘creations’ run wild with Free Will and ignore the values they tried to instill on their followers.

The values of any religion are not devalued at all by having a drawing showing how society doesn’t follow those values. Some extremists choose to flip out over the issue (of ANY religion!!!) but that’s because of a few key problems with society in general.

    1) People can’t laugh at themselves, far too sensitive and full of self-entitlement.
    2) People don’t hold themselves accountable for their own actions.

The result, pissing contests both at the micro level and at the macro level.

Once people (again generalizing) get their heads removed from their backsides, get down off their horses, listen to one another, and stop being so damn sensitive (realizing you’re insignificant is a start), the world will be a much better place!

  6. EveryoneIsAnonymous Says:

I think what Christian and proud of it is getting at is that Jesus wouldn’t be going around mocking humans in the first place.

BTW, if you don’t want to believe that’s your choice, I wouldn’t mock you for it, so why do you feel entitled to mock Christians for what they choose to believe?……..just asking!

  7. Robert Says:

    @EIA:

“BTW, if you don’t want to believe that’s your choice, I wouldn’t mock you for it, so why do you feel entitled to mock Christians for what they choose to believe?……..just asking!”

Who are you directing this at? In case it was me, I was not mocking Christians and I know, according to beliefs, that Jesus would never mock humans. If He sat back and was objective, as a human would be, he probably would mock.

I don’t mock anyone for what they chose to believe. My points 1) and 2) were not targeting specific people, but targeting society in general and people being sensitive in general. Case and point is Political Correctness. How many people are truly offended and how many are just being really sensitive? If they learned to laugh at themselves more they wouldn’t be so sensitive. That has nothing to do with religious beliefs.

Be careful when looking for things that are not there, as that’s what overly sensitive people do. “They didn’t clearly explain this has nothing to do with Coptic Orthodox Egyptian Christians, only Roman Catholics, so I am offended!” That’s a religious example of people being overly sensitive and looking for things that are not there.

We can’t exhaustively try to ensure every damn thing we say/do won’t offend anyone on the planet. That’s impossible. Someone somewhere will find something to be pissy about and that’s my point.

    1) and 2) explain why people always find thing to be pissy about and again, this is NOT targeted at Christian and proud of it specifically, but people in general. And has nothing to do with Christian and proud of it’s personal beliefs, but merely the reaction and the assumption that somehow Christian values were being devalued by the picture of Jesus mocking humans. They are not.

Does that make sense? See how difficult it is to explain things when people look for things they are sensitive about?

  8. Devil's Advocate Says:

“See how difficult it is to explain things when people look for things they are sensitive about?”

    @Dredd:

You’ve just explained to yourself why such explanations are just an exercise in futility. :D

The fact is, if an explanation seems necessary, you’re already up against an unreceptive accuser and a polarized agenda. (Think about it.)

  9. Jean Chicoine Says:

I refuse to take life seriously and if it offends this one’s religious sensitivity or that one’s moral sense, well, tough luck. Grow a backbone and stop wining.

  10. Anonymous Says:

“so why do you feel entitled to mock Christians for what they choose to believe”

I AM entitled to mock anyone I please because expression is my inalienable human right. NOBODY has a right to be above mockery, and if you’re sensitive about your whacked-out beliefs, that’s YOUR PROBLEM, not mine. I will say or type what I please, and I don’t have to respect anyone’s moronic beliefs, nor should I.

You know, it’s bad enough when fools go around claiming 4+6=17, but then to state that their obviously incorrect belief systems should be “respected” is absolutely insane.

Challenging archaic beliefs is good for all parties, including the fool who clings to them. Without challenging beliefs, we would still be mired in the medieval standards of life. Most people wouldn’t even be alive, and the ones that were would wish they weren’t.

Religious idiots should be mocked the millisecond their dogma starts erupting, for the good of humanity.

^^^ HEY that’s not cool. I believe in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy, half of the Greek mythological gods, the crab-fishing god, the baseball gods, the sun god, and of course yellow-god.

You people that mock me should be ashamed of yourself. And if I want to tell your children about my version of reality, who do you think you are to contradict me?

My beliefs must be respected! It is my human right to force my insanity down everyone’s throat and be fully above criticism while doing it. YOU MUST RESPECT MY BELIEFS!!!!! (And don’t worry, I won’t respect yours in return.)

  12. Jon Says:

    @ RW: ‘^^^ HEY that’s not cool.’

I hate to be the one to break this to you, but — there is no Easter Bunny. He’s a shill for a battery company.

    Cheers!

You’re absolutely right; freedom of speech gives you the inalienable right to be a complete asshole to whoever you want. Just as everyone else has the right to call you out on it. Say whatever you want, but be prepared for the repercussions.

    Absolutely!

Calling someone out on something is one thing. But, it’s not the same as telling someone how that can or can’t exercise their free speech. I’d classify the latter as simple righteousness.

  17. Jon Says:

@ RW: ‘I get sick of the MSM brainwashing ppl”

heh. Yep. But try to use a little restraint or you’ll end up with a lot of broken bones. ;)

    Cheers!

  18. EveryoneIsAnonymous Says:

@ all above responses…….ultimately it was a point about respect, and was aimed at the writer of the article. I respect all your rights to believe or not believe as you choose……however when I state what I believe I am in fact mocked ;ie, “whacked-out beliefs” “I don’t have to respect anyone’s moronic beliefs”

“Challenging archaic beliefs is good for all parties, including the fool who clings to them”

Guess the world in general just refuses to hold to any kind of decency or respect……… if that makes me archaic by my using them, well it is what it is!

Hope you all live a good full life, I choose to hold the higher ground and still respect your rights even if you don’t respect mine or other Christians beliefs.

  19. Jon Says:

    @ EveryoneIsAnonymous:

As the person who posted the Jesus cartoon, thanks for contributing. Truly.

    Cheers!

  20. Wozzzaaa Says:

I dont see or hear Jesus complaining about the cartoon. Why dont we all wait for him to lodge a complaint with Jon.

  21. Jesus Says:

    Dear Jon:

Do NOT mess with me! You’ve been warned.

    Yours sincerely,

Will the real Jesus please stand up.

  24. Devil's Advocate Says:

All those who are worried about “being mocked” for their beliefs need to ask themselves why it’s not really possible to mock an atheist in the same fashion.

And, if/when the answer occurs to you, the questions concerning “respect” or “mockery” of your beliefs should become moot.

ROFL I’ve heard more Jesus jokes from Christians, pastors, priests, clergy and related people than any uptight Jesus follower can handle. Especially about his multiple marriages to both Mary’s.

I like history end of it instead. Jesus was a rightful King to his Just people as he tried to kick out Merchants that were practicing Usury. For those who don’t know what Usury is, Usury means adding interest or surcharge on a loan or charging extra for storing of Gold or Silver, like a bank or any financial institution of today. Main reason certain groups/tribes of Jews are still hated today. Main reason he was crucified as well.

Most of you Christians should read up on HISTORY and not the diluted crap in a Roman and Templar/Freemason based bible. You will be amazed at the kind of revolutionary he actually was and how it pertains to today: banking, foreclosures, stealing of public funds, double charging, business, shipping and any other part of Unlawful Commerce. “It’s the economy stupid.”

Today’s Common Law is a small fraction of Rightful practices of old. The only Just Law left.
Jesus went East to relearn these Laws, practices and tactics on taking down the Unjust, mainly to Nepal.

For those mocking his values you better think again. Those actual Ancient Laws still have the Force of Law today. As a matter of fact today’s Laws are based on them. Hence you need to know them in order to find Remedy in today’s society and courts. There you will find actual solutions and how to beat this Unjust system of today.

    End of lesson Jesus101

Now go learn your History before you make bigger fools of yourselves in a public forum.
