William Shatner goes Metal

p2pnet view Music:- Canada’s William Shatner, aka Capt James. T. Kirk, late of the starship Enterprise, is recording a metal album!

Zounds!

And, says the LA Weekly, “some big metal heavy-hitters have been engaged to play backup” including Peter Frampton and Mike Inez and maybe “Steve Howe of Yes, Ian Paice of Deep Purple and the god among men, Brian May of Queen”.

Adds the story:

“Finally, it wouldn’t be a space themed album without the space man and his self proclaimed Space Bass, Bootsy Collins! (Caveat: some of these people might not appear on the final album. Reportedly, Shatner runs a loose (space)ship and sessions are fun and chaotic, nobody knowing how or when they’re gonna happen.)”

Stay tuned. 8-)

(Cheers, Scotty ;) )

Peter Frampton? Heavy Metal? You must be joking, right?

    @ Maroan:

    Not ‘heavy’. Just ‘metal. ;)

    Cheers!

  3. Eric Says:

Won’t be speed metal, even at Warp 1.

  4. Grumpy Old Fart Says:

Sounds interesting. I wonder how it will compare with Pat Boone’s “In a Metal Mood” (his version of “Crazy Train” is a classic!).
