ICE takes down another 18 web sites
p2pnet view P2P:- American citizens will be relieved to know ICE is still on the job, protecting corporate interests on their tax dollars.
ICE? It’s the largest investigative arm of the Department of Homeland Security”. It’s a “21st century law enforcement agency with broad responsibilities for a number of key homeland security priorities”.
Having first performed sterling services for Vivendi Universal, EMI, Warner Music and Sony Music, it’s launched its wittily labelled Operation Broken Hearted as Phase IV of the equally cleverly named Operation in Our Sites, a “sustained initiative aimed at counterfeiting and piracy over the Internet”.
The headline is ‘Sweetheart, but fake, deals put on ICE’. With the Op names and that, they must have an RIAA hack writing for them.
“Earlier this month, 10 websites that illegally streamed live sporting telecasts and pay-per-view events over the Internet were seized”, says ICE, adding:
“In November 2010, 82 domain names of commercial websites engaged in the illegal sale and distribution of counterfeit goods and copyrighted works were seized. In June 2010, investigators executed seizure warrants against nine domain names of websites offering pirated copies of first-run movies, music and software.”
Good to know.
Now, US Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) “served court orders seizing 18 domain names of websites selling counterfeit goods over the Internet”, it says, going on Operation Broken Hearted is the fourth phase of, Operation in Our Sites, a “sustained initiative aimed at counterfeiting and piracy over the Internet”.
“The 18 domain names seized were commercial websites engaged in the illegal sale and distribution of counterfeit goods”, says ICE, boasting, “During the course of the operation, federal law enforcement agents made undercover purchases from online retailers suspected of selling counterfeit goods. Purchased counterfeit items included bracelets, earrings, handbags, necklaces, rings, sunglasses, wallets and watches.”
The seized pages include >>>

Well I think it’s a good thing to get rid of these real pirates.
If they’re selling and earning off of conterfeit goods, they should go to jail
because they’re making a profit.
But p2p is a non-profit hobby and no one is making money from sharing what they have.
And many people, including myself, often buy a product after sampling it from p2p.
But I do think they should go after the private p2p websites that collect money – or “donations” –
who are making a profit. If they want to have a p2p website, they should pay for it themselves.
If they can’t afford it, they shouldn’t do it.
Filesharers aren’t pirates

@Luggage
If they want to get rid of these real pirates, then they should go arrest them and take them to court, NOT simply censor their websites and pretend the problem has gone away.

The fact that not a single music blog or torrent search engine was among the seized sites this time around would suggest that the wave of criticism against the Feds’ previous “Barney Fife” style law enforcement is finally sinking in.

@ RW: ‘The fact that not a single music blog or torrent search engine … ‘
Or it could be Hollywood and Big Music have to make it look like all kinds of counterfeits are included in their blatantly entertainment-cartel-centric corporate shake-down. They hope that’ll disguise the fact they’re behind using ICE as taxpayer funded copyright cops.
Cheers!

“Well I think it’s a good thing to get rid of these real pirates.”
Well the problem is that they are mixing real thieves with legitimate web sites that the corporation of parasites do not like and therefore we can not support the fed on this one.
Operation Iran is ongoing right now and all the Iran gov web sit are down. Once there is a lull in these operations in the middle east and Asia guess who will be next target?

Sites with names like REPLICA-HANDBAGS-ONLINE.COM and ECREPLICA.COM are obviously not selling *counterfeit* products – which are things that are fraudulently represented.
Selling “replicas” -as replicas- should not be a high crime, even though *style* can be indeed be trademarked.
Replicas I’ve seen had nothing worse than the brand name mis-spelled, which although it might fool some people, does not cross the line to be considered a bona fide counterfeit.

Well I think it’s ICE that’s illegal as it’s an extension of Homeland Security which is based out of Puerto Rico. Both are illegal according to Articles of Independence and United States Constitution.
If you look closely Washington D. C. only has 10 mile limit around it for use of it’s powers. Anything outside of that is governed by the States and has the force of Law of the State, not the Fed.
Similar in Canada. Sask. Alberta and BC have not been Lawfully seeded into Canada and are not subject to British shipping laws or business policy rule. They are still under pure Common Law Jurisdiction. This means Natives and Settlers are the Law … or better know as Law of The Land.
As long as you don’t use so called British Shipping they can’t bust you for anything. As we all know by now “sharing” is not shipping, moving is not shipping, traveling is not shipping. Learn your words and what they mean according to law dictionaries to learn your rights. Only thing Feds can do is threaten you, try to trick you, force you to sign illegal contracts under duress or detain you in jail with threats, temporarily. Once you stand up to them and show you know your Common Laws they back off.
My dad learned from Okanagen Natives and he taught me. Cops tried to bust me for sharing 70 TB of movies numerous times and finally gave up after 5th time. I get my essential services (internet, gas, phone, electricity, water) basically for free. I’m proud to say I make 300k on a good year and don’t pay cent of tax either. Work is not business or comes under heading of income.
Question is, do you have the balls to learn or you going to stay a slave to Feds?
If you want to fight the NWO, a fraudulent economy (usury), this is the only way to do it Lawfully, besides boycotting them. Well unless you take the chance of getting your head pounded in and ending up in one of there jails for protesting.
