Music File Share Top Ten switch
p2pnet.net News:- Yesterday was the last day for the p2pnet File Share Top Ten as it’s been.
It was based on statistics from p2p research company Big Champagne and we started off with an all-in-one chart, expanding to Overall, Country, Mainstream Adult Contemporary, Modern Rock and Urban, based on p2p download figures supplied exclusively to p2pnet by Big Champagne.
Recently, Big Champagne organized a link-up with Nielsen Entertainment and has now taken the File Share Top Ten public.
Beginning next week, we’ll be adding Top 40 Mainstream and Top 40 Rhythmic – again exclusively for p2pnet readers.
For now, on Big Champagne’s site, its Top Swap, “allows you to look at artists and songs in much the same way you look at commercial radio,” it says. “That is, we identify core radio listeners by format and by market and then rank popular songs based on those formats. BigChampagne does not measure airplay: we look at file sharing based on radio format.”
We’ll also be continuing with our unique Movies File Share Top Ten.It, too, is based on Big Champagne statistics and like the MFSTT, you won’t find them anywhere else.
