New Google personal pages

p2pnet.net News:- The New York Times, BBC News, OSTG’s (Open Source Technology Group) slashdot and Wired News get a heavy PR hit from Google.

They’re mentioned specifically in ‘Personalize your Google homepage’ through which users can model Google to narrow down search selections.

But, “The change to the Google home page will raise eyebrows among old search hands,” says PC World.

"Part of the original attraction of Google was that it was a pure search facility and not cluttered by the rush to portalisation that was occurring among rivals at the time such as Yahoo! and Alta Vista. Many will fear that creeping portalisation will produce the same kind of cluttered page that Yahoo! and MSN are actually trying to get away from."

actually, Google will be less cluttered, just cause they seem to know how to keep good style on their page!

as long as they keep the standard Google page, and dont add a hole page length of crap, it will be fine.

  2. Reader's Write Says:

The point is that your personalized Google home page is being cluttered by no other than yourself (if you chose so).

well said, exactly my thought :) !
