Man nabbed filming Star Wars
p2pnet.net News:- Last month, US president George W. Bush signed into law the senator Orrin Hatch act which makes it a crime to use camcorders to shoot films in movie theaters. Transgressors can be jailed for up to three years for a first offense, be fined up to $2,500 and can get up to six years for repeats.
Now a man in Grass Valley, California, who went to see Revenge of the Sith, has been turned in by a another member of the audience.
A woman complained to theater staff after she said he kept bumping into her chair, says the Associated Press. When they approached him, they noticed the camera, said theater owner Mike Getz. When the movie ended, he simply walked out – followed closely by theater staff. `We asked him to wait. He wouldn’t wait. He kept walking,` Getz said.
The man was cited for infringing the Family Entertainment and Copyright Act and Grass Valley Police captain Dave Remillard is quoted as saying he`ll leave it up to the district attorney’s office to decide if other charges will be layed, adds AP.
