Caught cops napping, fined $156

p2pnet view Off Topic:- Amateur videographer Maxime Carpentier spotted two Surete du Quebec cops snoozing in their squad car.

He couldn’t resist.

So he crept up to them and caught them napping.

Literally.

It all happened on a stretch of Highway 40 northeast of Montreal, says CTV News.

The cops’ response?

They woke up just as Maxime started shooting, asked him for his license —-

—- and nailed him for $156 for parking in an emergency zone, says the story, adding:

“The man who shot the video is fighting the ticket.

“The Surete du Quebec says it’s looking into the matter.”

  1. Anonymous Says:

The SQ are NOTORIOUSLY corrupt and brutal, even more than the OPP.

It was SQ that were caught provocateuring at the Montebello summit a few years back. And what is amazing is that they lied at first (which is criminal) and then lied and lied and lied again to cover their asses. NOBODY was ever held to account, and the people didn’t demand action. The disguised provoc should have been publicly identified and required to testify as to WHO gave such illegal orders.

I guess the Quebecers don’t understand the danger of letting their police get out of hand and act outside the laws. Not much has changed apparently, since this piece-of-garbage cop thought it wasn’t much of a risk to sleep while on duty. He should be fired for not only sleeping on duty, but then abusing his authority when he was caught. That is called “deterrent factor”, a term authoritarians like to apply to everyone else.

BTW unless you are operating a vehicle, never identify yourself to the police. You are not obligated to, and they can not detain you for this. If they do, call a few lawyers, you have an easy case and might be able to shake that cop down for a few thousand dollars before even getting into the courtroom. And if you think you are being subject to unlawful detention, reasonable physical force can be used, although it can be risky when dealing with an armed imbecile. I always carry animal repellent (you can’t shoot a gun or defend yourself when you can’t see.)

I hope the person who made this video sues the living hell out of this pathetic excuse for an officer. I’m sure his department won’t do a damn thing other than tell him to find a more private place to sleep. He’s lucky we live in a civilized country, I would have considered duct-taping his doors shut and doing something truly evil involving matches and a newspaper. (Just kidding.)
