Star Wars scamvertisements
p2pnet.net News:- It’s intereresting to note that at least one Google scamvertiser is using the Fame of the Sith to try to imply people can download the movie if they go to its site, which is but an AOL Moviefone Star Wars merchandising page.

The pic above was clipped from a May 23 p2pnet Google ad under ‘Sith’ box-office record breaker.
Needlesss to say, it’s no more genuine than any of the Download millions of mp3s and movies FOR FREE !!!! type of ads you see on a lot of sites, including ours.
Moviefone is:
AOL®Movies ©2005 America Online, Inc. All Rights Reserved.

We’ve been doing our best to use the Google Competitive Ad Filter to thwart the worst scamvertisements (movies, file sharing, mp3s, etc) and have so far blocked 199.
But there’s a “200 URLs maximum” says Google, and the people who develop these kinds of scamads keep coming up with new ones. So …..
We now get very little out of the Google ads. Honestly. In fact, we abandoned them for a while. But because we’re non-entrepreneurial and depend wholly on ads to keep p2pnet online, we re-instated them.
At this point (6:58 pm on May 25) we’re owed $92.02 for the month of May.
