He’ll be taking over from Rolf Schmidt-Holtz, who’ll be on his way when his contract ends on March 31, says Sony.

UMG’s Doug Morris has put both feet into his mouth, totally covered his face with egg and stepped into a huge pile of shit, and then some, not to mix metaphors or put too fine a point on it, said p2pnet when Doug was still riding high.

That’s a misconception writers make all the time, that the record industry missed this. They didn’t. They just didn’t know what to do. It’s like if you were suddenly asked to operate on your dog to remove his kidney.

He confirmed something we’ve all known for years, said p2pnet — that the people who run the record labels are a bunch of incompetent, doddering, technological idiots.
