Don’t laugh, this is coming too, or at least, they’re trying. Intel is already making chips with DRM built in. Not as drastic as the example above, but that’s the plan of many greedy sons of bitches in this country. They wanna control your computer and everything you do and watch.

hmmm….I’m really confused.

If the industry is so badly hurt from the downloading then how is it that there are still ticket sales records being broken?

Has anyone ever thought to trace downloads through BT to see how many “conservative” people download illegally. I think we would all be suprised to know how many GOP children and family members download. In fact, I’d be willing to bet that Bush’s own daughters have downloaded files in their college years. Or what about the family members of movie production employees. Downloaders are not just quiet nerds or passionate rebels. There are far too many buttoned-down people I know who download like fiends. I want everyone in america to realize how many people are downloading and who those people are in contrast with who is being prosecuted.

i mean common, how dare the working class people get free stuff from the rich? that just isn’t right… i mean what kind of world do we live in if the rich can’t step all over the poor and get richer?
star wars only made $347 million in a few days… how is George gonna feed his kids with that? poor guy

bloody corporate america… they’re such ****(insert your favorite word), every comment i read on ET of people downloading star wars said they were gonna watch it in the theatre’s anyway (because it’ll be so much better then on tv) they just didn’t want to wait in line, or wait a week to see it.. now i hope they will not go watch it in the theatre’s at all.

they say they lose however much billion a year.. they think everyone that downloads would watch and pay if they didn’t DL?.. that’s a joke… if hollywood has been losing money lately it’s because they put out such garbage (pg13 horror movies anyone?) movies. people will pay to watch good movies. (evident with star wars)
star wars is doing quite well, so it just goes to show how greedy these bastards are…
i’m done with movies (even DVD’s) i’ll download from other sites still active (they’ll never get em all) or just wait till they come out on tv. the motion picture industry isn’t getting even 1 more penny from this poor lad.
and i hope they get the same treatment from you.

according to starwars episode 3 had a production cost of $113,000,000 (someone got a nice bonus)..

113 million dollars to create, WTF! supposing this $133m is the total cost of the movie, including all wages, complete dvd production of a few hundred thousand units, etc.

Now take the movie box office gross for the 1st 3 days (thur-sat)..

124,700,000 covered TOTAL production cost in first 3 days..
-113,000,000
————
11,700,000

Thats 11 million dollars gross profit soo far. not including dvd sales, licensing to pay tv networks, public tv networks etc.
and these BASTARDS have the gaul to complain about losing money…

Sometimes us monkeys don’t think we can make a diff. anymore, and that change, evolution/revolution, and other good vibes of their ilk are just t-shirts and bumperstickers and culture that’s snatched up and packaged and presented to be bought and sold and etc etc yadda yadda…ultimately, tho, ‘it doesn’t change a thing, what can one person do,’ more et ceteras, etc.

well, one person (YOU) can do a lot. even if your little bubble, sphere of influence only affects you, not a single other thing, biz, person, environment - that’s something. each person who pauses and stands up, walks away from, doesn’t spend money on/at, yells, raises a fist, and/or any other form of criticism that’s aimed towards the wrinkly, charred, hurts-the-soul and kills-the-fire-within-us thinking and actions that are the lifeblood of most corporate-driven guv’mint/big-box retail/industries…every single little action that does something concrete and not only says WTF? but does something about it…makes a difference. those little ripples in the pond that go out when you throw a rock in get bigger and bigger. nil desperandum.
