Nokia phoneless Wi-Fi handheld
p2pnet.net News:- Nokia says it’s getting into mobile computing with a new $350 Linux hand-held offering a browsing platform for home use, but also able to tap Wi-Fi hotspots through Bluetooth.
“It’s not a PDA or a PC, it’s in that midrange where there’s definitely a market out there for it,” the San Francisco Chronicle quotes Nokia spokeswoman Laurie Armstrong as saying.
“It’s something people can use when they’re frequently away from the desktop or in the backyard or a cafe or whatever the case.”
But, “The 770 does not include a cell phone, the field in which Nokia has made its mark, so users must use a separate cell phone to make a Bluetooth connection,” says the Chronicle..
Called the Nokia 770 Internet Tablet, it’s 5.6 inches long with a 4.1”high-resolution display.
