Nokia opens up to Linux
p2pnet.net News:- On the heels of the announcement of Nokia’s phoneless Wi-Fi handheld comes further news that it’s
letting open source companies use its patented technology to develop Linux.
This should help them, “extend Linux more widely to both mobile devices and mission-critical telecoms infrastructure solutions,” says Computer Weekly, going on:
“The limited take-up of Linux-based mobile devices has so far mainly taken place in Asia, with companies, particularly in China and India, keen to benefit from the cheaper development costs in launching open source products.”
