p2pnet.net News:- The corporate music cartel`s pseudo police MIPI (Music Industry Piracy Investigations) in Australia was spying on Kazaa boss Nikki Hemming’s house on a “continuous basis” for several months, until 11am on 24 May.

Its ex-boss Michael Speck has also admitted the MIPI had also tailed Hemming herself, but finished some time ago.

The ARIA`s (Australian Recording Industry Association)MIPI, conducted the surveillance as part of its efforts to determine who controlled the peer-to-peer software Kazaa, says the story, going on, The issue is key to the music industry’s litigation against Sharman Networks, associated companies and individuals over alleged copyright-infringing behaviour.

The faux cop unit was, conducting an investigation into a shadowy organisation hiding behind a veil of secrecy and surveillance is a normal practice,” he said, according to ZDNet, which also points out that Hemming sold her house to Sharman accountant John Myers for AU$2.1 million in late February.

We have consistently asserted that Hemming controls the Sharman companies, we have asserted that to the court,” Speck is quoted as saying.

The Big Music cartel claims that while Hemming controls Sharman Networks and Sharman License Holdings, Altnet ceo Kevin Bermeister, is the true controller of the Kazaa software,” says the story, adding:
