Sith still doing well
p2pnet.net News:- Immediately following news that the final Star Wars, Episode III Revenge of the Sith, was on the p2p nets even before it had been released, movie industry mouthpiece Dan Glickman was frothing and blowing, claiming file sharing was taking away from the Magic of the Movies.
And in an amaziing Hollywood coincidence, the next day BitTorrent site Elite Torrents was stomped by the FBI, Homeland Security and US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, with the Sith leak featuring the press release.
Did the studios’ MPAA (Misinformation Picture Association of America) engineer the leak, which came not from a file sharer with a Sony camcorder, but from a Hollywood work print?
Nah …..
Anyway, the leak didn’t do anything to damage attendance then, or now, and it certainly isn’t affecting revenues.
Nor did the release of Madagascar and The Longest Yard (which cost Sith 50% of its potential audience, says the New York Post) do any serious damage.
The last Star Wars movie still set attendance and revenue records, proving yet again that Hollywood’s claims of financial disaster because of file sharing are about as believable as its press releases.
In the meanwhile, Madagascar and The Longest Yard are both on the p2p networks. And they’ll still do well.

“proving yet again that Hollywood’s claims of financial disaster because of file sharing are about as believable as its press releases.”
unfortunatly the press believes it and presents it as fact causing the public to believe it as well.
