SafeNet to buy MediaSentry
p2pnet.net News:- Entertainment cartel scalp-hunter MediaSentry has been bought by SafeNet Digital Rights Management for cash and stock consideration of $20 million made up of 70% stock and 30% cash, “complemented by an earn out schedule".
The firm works for the likes of Warner Brothers, the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) the BSA (Business Software Alliance) in their concerted, and fruitless, efforts to crush file sharing and identify file sharers.
With the acquisition of MediaSentry, “we are able to expand our anti-piracy offering to include protection for peer-to-peer networks, while gaining a new competency in managed services with a stellar customer list,” spouts SafeNet boss Anthony Caputo.
"This is an ideal fit with our vision for the rights management business, and positions us as the market leader in the growing DRM market."
