These are the guys who were all too happy to attack Second Ammendment rights and bite the hand that feeds them by supporting a ban on .50 Caliber rifles which was based on emotionally driven arguements (”Think of the children!”) with blind disregard of facts (”.50 Calibers have yet to be used in a single crime in their 90 years of existance.”)…

The only thing they ever got right was allowing patrol officers to carry AR-15 rifles in their squad cars. (Note, AR-15s aren’t assault weapons, despite what the recently expired ban’s creators led the public to believe). Then again, they supported the ban.

… So why am I not surprised that they’re bowing to another waste of resources?

I don’t think the MPAA would shell out that kind of money to stop drugs. they’re interested in something far more dangerous and important (notice the sarcasm), after all isn’t that what tax dollars are for?

“Just get a few folks out there to hand legit dvd’s back and forth to each other and act all suspicious. Trench coats, sunglasses, and some funky “spy like” lines such as “Are you the brown bear?” or “I am the key master.”, should throw the oh so helpful PD off of even bothering with this.”

Then the MPAA will claim illegal sharing in the streets is costing them billions of dollars. They push to pass a law that says we cannot trade anything anywhere without their written permission, or we will go to jail for a time no less than 10x the sentance given to a real criminal.
