Cell phone bullying

p2pnet.net News:- One in four 11 to 19 year olds in the UK has been bullied or threatened through their mobile phone or PC.

A total of 16% said they’d received bullying or threatening text messages, and 29% of those surveyed said they hadn’t told anyone about the bullying.

And, with almost every kid aged between 12-16 owning a mobile phone, the problem is serious, says the NCH childrens’ charity in a new study.

It defines being bullied via a mobile phone in several different ways.

Text bullying, the biggest mobile bullying problem, is one or more unwelcome text messages recipients find threatening, or uncomfrotable. “Very often bullies will disguise their numbers from the victim and in some cases they use other people’s phones to avoid being caught.”

Camera phones can make the victim feel, “threatened, embarrassed or uncomfortable. Photographs could be sent to other people.”

Kids can get, “silent calls, abusive messages or their identity may even be stolen and used to harass others who then think the victim is responsible,” says the report, also pointing out that threatening messages have been sent through web sites using names and phone numbers of people who knew nothing about it.

“A mobile phone is one of a child’s most treasured personal possessions,” says the NHC. “They tend to keep it on all the time. So if the mobile starts being used to harass a child, be it through text or camera phone bullying, it can seem like there is no escape.

“The bullies always have a way of reaching them. They can feel trapped, with nowhere to hide and no one they can turn to for help. Or they might worry that if they do tell their parents or another adult, their mobile phone will be taken away from them.”

There’s now a web site called Stoptextbully.com where children can click on the kind of text bullying that’s bothering them.

Why the fuck do kids have cell phones?

  2. Reader's Write Says:

Because they are whiny little brats that demand every gadget from mommy and daddy. Of course, it’s all in the name of keeping an eye on little Johnny and Mary.

I was the same way when I was a kid, so nothing’s changed. My parents simply had the good sense to tell me no.

  3. Reader's Write Says:

    because the kids are whores.

and if they arent, why do they dress like one.

    BURN!!
    BURN!!

against the whorish 12 yr olds. Not you sir.
