Napster tries with Ericsson
p2pnet.net News:- The sad Napster II corporate music rental company has persuaded Ericsson to team up with it in a ‘service’ for mobile operators.
The fact Napster is billing itself as the “biggest brand in digital music” should be enough to warn Ericsson off. But then, Ericsson doesn’t have much to lose and Napster has absolutely everything to gain..
“The Napster and Ericsson business model accommodates mobile operator participation in all revenue streams,” say the two.
It’ll be another effort in which punters will be given temporary access to the Big Music cartel’s tired mp3 product. As long as they pay, they can access the music. When they stop it, and any libraries they may have accumulated, vanish.
“Napster’s brand, catalog, label relationships, programming, PC and portable offerings will be combined with Ericsson’s operator relationships, wireless development, integration, hosting, deployment and support and IPX charging systems,” say the two.
