Yahoo Music Unlimited

p2pnet.net News:- It’s now close to a month since Yahoo was first told its beta Yahoo Music Unlimited was indeed unlimited.

And it’s still open to the hack discovered by Michigan’s Robert Chapin, owner of Chapin Information Services .

CIS told Yahoo mp3s could be downloaded for free, but the company wasn’t interested then, and apparently isn’t interested now.

“As of today, there is no change in the free availability of 128 kbps unprotected music at Yahoo Music,” Chapin told p2pnet.

“We still haven’t received a formal response from Yahoo. A three-week response time is uncharacteristic of this type of situation.”

Give me a break. Yahoo doesnt even offer mp3s in its service. If something were really possible, this guy should publish how to do it. What a loser.

  2. Reader's Write Says:

Ian Rogers one of the YME developers told me the guy was using his digital soundcard outputs and inputs to convert the secure streams into mp3s thats why they are not interested .Until Secure Audio Path is elimented at the OS and Chip level simple “hacks” like are going to exist. ..

  3. Reader's Write Says:

THe original story seems to indicate that you don’t even have to pay for the service… it says:

“You can simply forget all of the above and get Yahoo downloads without paying a cent, a reality he told us he’s been trying to pass to Yahoo with a marked lack of success”

unless i am reading this wrong?? maybe you’re right about converting from “secure” DRMed files to regular mp3s, but i read the original one as saying you didnt even have to pay for the service…
