More good news on VLC

p2pnet.net News:- Following news that Google will be using VLC, the Participatory Culture Foundation (PCF) says DTV, its open-source internet TV player, also embeds the VLC in a desktop aggregator for video RSS feeds.

The PCF, a non-profit organization dedicated to building open-source website and software tools “for broader engagement with culture and politics,” is funded by Andy and Deborah Rappaport, as well as Mitch Kapor.

Recently, the new cable news network Current TV said it’ll will be using the PCF’s free internet TV platform to distribute video content online.

DTV will be released free and open to the public nest month, together with the BitTorrent video publisher Broadcast Machine, released last month and with which people wil be able to have their own TV channel online.
