Viagra and blindness

p2pnet.net OT News:- Could you go blind if you use Viagra?

The drug’s maker, Pfizer, was attacked for not making it clear in adverts that the drug can cause headache, flushing and “abnormal vision”.

Now it’ll, “change the label for its Viagra impotence pill to warn doctors about sudden vision loss that has occurred in some men who took the drug,” says Bloomberg News.

But, “The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is asking all makers of impotence drugs to include similar warnings, New York-based Pfizer said in a statement today. No ‘causal relationship’ has been made between Viagra and the condition, a type of eye stroke called non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy, Pfizer said.”

Meanwhile, a New York man has "joined others nationwide who say the impotence drug Viagra made them go blind," says the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, going on:

"Alvin Wagner filed a lawsuit in state Supreme Court on June 17 claiming that his retinal damage and eventual blindness were caused by the Viagra he took since 1999."

Here’s at least one other Viagra article: http://p2pnet.net/story/5003

Why articles about Viagra, of all things, on a P2P website?

Although warning people of any drug’s dangers might seem like a noble cause, it should be no secret that the bulk of P2P users are in their teens and early twenties - an age when males typically have absolutely no need for any Viagra-like ‘assistance’!

“O.T.” articles are fine, but why not at least tailor the selection of topics toward the interests of the average P2P user?

Or would neglecting the needs of the “Viagra generation” be age discrimination?

  2. Reader's Write Says:

…the bulk/average of p2p users are white males in their 40’s. look through p2p forums where they have those udiotic forums and surveys asking how old a person is and asking them to post a photo. that is what you’ll find.

so, articles about viagra might not fit in a p2p news site, but they will still be read by the bulk of p2p users visiting here.l

at least they’re not warning you’ll grow hair on the palms of your hands.

That would be great! leave no fingerprints :)
