So content from commercial proviers will ahve ads?

Big surprise. It's not like Apple are going to insert unskippable ads into roots-level podcasts.

And on that subject - its a pre-recorded, time-shift environment. Fast forward them, it's the two little arrows next to each other.

just another reason to get your podcast off the edonkey2000 client and not from those trying to push the advertising onto us. At first I was displeased with the ruling that stated that podcast can not contain music. See here:

Recent court rulings have made clear that music of almost any kind cannot be included in podcasts (mp3 downloads), since unlike streams, podcasts are a physical copy of the audio, and music is not licensed for this use.

We regret that this means podcasts must be edited to remove all such music, including bumper music that leads out of commercial breaks, and any music content in the show.

As always, all streams of the show, including those delivered on demand, do include all show content, including music.

Update: Beginning with the Friday June 17th program and going forward, a technical solution was reached for the live M-F shows, so that the entire audio (minus the music) is now available for the podcast and mp3 downloads. Because this process is done through a live mix, rebroadcast shows from before 6/17/05 will not be able to be edited this way.

The weekend show, which is not produced out of our Los Angeles studio, may on occasion, have rougher than usual edits in order to follow the law. We are looking at technical solutions to this set-up as well.

Thanks very much for your patience during this transitional time.

I have been collecting the real broadcast off Overnet for a few years now and then got on to the edonkey2000 network to get some files off of the server list that the client has.
