Godfather script goes for $313K
p2pnet.net News:- Marlon Brando’s personal copy of the screenplay for The Godfather set a new world record at yesterday’s auction of his personal effects at Christie’s in New York, says the Guardian Unlimited.
It went for $312,800 (£176,000) to an unnamed buyer.
Rumours that the Big Music cartel`s RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) snapped it up so it could patent a coercion technique first suggested in The Godfather should be ignored.
Marlon Brando says “I’ll make him an offer he don’t refuse” and the industry kop organization has been using the method to `persuade` victims of its sue `em all marketing campaign to `settle` without going to court.
So far, every one of its almost 11,000 or more than 12,000 victims (the exact number is uncertain) has settled. This means so far, there`s been no court ruling on file sharing and not one of the people who`ve received an RIAA subpoena has been found guilty of anything.
But if all those people have settled, they must be guilty of something. Right?
Well, the people being victimized are all ordinary men, women and children and none of them have the legal or financial weight to take the multi-billion-dollar music industry on . So they have no choice. Settle. Or else. So the RIAA’s outrageous and incorrect claims that file sharing is damaging their sales, and that file sharers are guilty of some offence, have never been tested in an open court.
