Can you spell ‘Decentralize’?
p2pnet.net News:- Operation Site Down it’s called. But the name is deceptive.
The raids weren’t specifically aimed at sites but at servers. The overall goal was: IP addresses. But one thing bothers me.
The Industry wants to identify and shutdown (file) sharers. But strangely enough in Holland, suspects were released soon after being arrested.
Does this bring back memories of "Raids on Ed2k and Bittorrent defined"?
At last check, those suspects still haven’t been charged or incarcerated.
However, things have changed since then and now the raids make more sense.
Brein is on its way to winning the case against ISP’s concerning ip-addresses and identities. So the rest of the world can start preparing for US style suits against file sharers.
And another thing bothers me. (Yes; I’m taking this one kidney stone at a time.)
Why do releasers still use ftp servers? FIOD-ECD was able to get orders to seize an ftp server in a student housing complex.
Didn’t Napster teach you guys anything?
Can anybody spell "Decentralize"?
What part of "Open" don’t you understand?
Ok, one more time:
If you keep a central server and it contains files bla bla…. You know what? I give up.
Just kidding: I’m still working on the Survival Guide 2005 part II.
Use this as a reminder:
File-sharers use p2p. Crooks use ftp.
It’s the difference between getting raided or just getting sued.

look it up in a dictionary. there are british spellings and bastardized american spellings.
the world does not revolve around america.

Doesn’t revolve around Britain either. And I like my color, license, decentralization, and NTSC’s 60 interlaced frames per second, thank you very much. Stop being a prick over spellings and use what you want. We know what you’re trying to say and vice-versa.

In the Canadian Dictionaries (MS Word, others) They use chiefly British Spellings for things like Decentralise. However, in the real world, NOBODY uses the “S” vice the “Z” (but we do say Zed, not Zee).
Variety is the spice of life. We are all children of different colours. And yes, I did spell “colour” correctly.

Just to clarify:
“The FIOD-ECD is the Dutch government agency assigned to the criminal pursuit of fiscal, financial and economical fraud. They can by any constitutional means go after hard-core criminals.”
Point: they don’t need to get clearance to seize, they just need a lead.
Shoot first, ask questions later kinda guys

Honestly as long as you use reasonably close English, what does it matter if a misspelled word is there or not? Did it prevent you from understanding what the intent of the message was? I mean, you didn’t have to cypher it out or anything. Mostly when folks go for spelling as a method of shooting holes in words it is because of laziness and not because of having a good train of thought to back up an objection.
The article was clear in its meaning. Whether you spell color or colour has nothing to do with getting the meaning across. Good thought was put into the article that was written and exposed to this site for your convenience so you didn’t have to search the net to find it. For that we should all be grateful as we are not exposed to every spyware, hidden toolbar, and the like at each site you show up at.
For those that would complain of the spelling, there is evidently a larger world out there for you to seek and find out about. To be so closed minded as to figure that there is only one way to spell a word means that your horizon is rather small.

American spellings sometimes save a byte of storage space, as in color vs. colour.
